Well, some of you will remember that I created a submissions post where I stated that I was going to try my hardest to get published.
One of the groups that I submitted to was Fringe Works for their Grimm and Grimmer Anthology. I haven’t heard back about that yet so, like an author with submissions OCD, I keep checking their facebook page for any news on that submission and to keep abreast of other submissions they’re asking for.
There I was, skimming through their posts when I saw that they were having a competition to name a book to come that will be based around Undead Nazis. Those are two of the coolest subjects merged into one ever!
Needless to say I got busy finding titles that I thought would rock. Whilst I was doing this, I started to chat them as well and, in between possible titles, found myself being offered an EDITOR’S position. Editor of the as-yet-to-be-titled Undead book!
Obviously, there are further discussions that need to be had, but 2013 is starting to look like a very good year indeed! I only hope that the good news keeps coming!

About mattsylvester
Father of two beautiful daughters and married to the beautiful Karen, Matthew has been reading and writing fantasy and science fiction since he first read the Hobbit at the age of 7. Currently he is working on the worlds of Shattered Lands and Faraway, adult steamfantasy and child’s steamfantasy. The latter is a co-operative project with his eldest daughter.
He has recently been accepted as a contributor to the Grimm & Grimmer Anthology, to be published by Fringe Works, with a short story titled “Death’s Messengers“.
He has also been asked to act as editor on a forthcoming anthology that will feature Undead Nazis. Two of the most beautiful and exciting words from a science fiction and fantasy author’s point of view. He is, naturally, very excited about this project.
Matthew was also Features Editor, Technical Consultant and regular columnist for magazines such as ‘Fighters’, ‘Combat’, ‘TKD & Korean Martial Arts’ and ‘Traditional Karate’. These are the four leading martial arts magazines in the United Kingdom.
He is also the author of the critically acclaimed ‘Practical Taekwondo: Back to the Roots’, which has been sold around the world.
With regard to his martial arts background he has been studying martial arts since 1991. In 1995 he hosted Professor Rick Clark of the ADK and since then has been studying pressure points and their uses in the martial arts and on the street (initially as a Special Constable and as a Door Supervisor).
All of this practical hands-on experience means that he is uniquely placed to write fight scenes that are not only plausible but some of which are based on personal or anecdotal experience (although he must admit he has never slain an orc. Unfortunately.)
Think you mean 2013?!?
